Is it worth falling inlove if you have to keep it a secret?

that’s the question that i have been asking myself for a very long time now. you can only see him from afar and can only talk to him as a friend or only as a schoolmate. and being in that kind of situation REALLY hurt because you have to be contented on the relationship you have with him even if it is only YOU—very far—HIM or it can also be YOU—friends–HIM. all of that situations are very hard yet very common to all the people out there. i couldnt understand why people,including me, have to be hurt because we dont deserve it. we have given our best and yet were still unhappy. we love them with all our heart, and still, they search for someone who is better than us. or sometimes, your friends with him, you want him to know feelings for him but youre afraid of what might happen to your friendship with him, so. . . you keep it as a secret. . . when you see him with other girls, you feel jealous and hurt but you know that you dont have the right to feel that way because the two of you are only friends, you really want to tell him but your afraid. . now, can you answer my question or it make you more confused?
